Summer Youth Program

Students will have the opportunity to explore various careers in health care and to build their portfolios while enhancing the quality of life of our patients.

Program Goals: Students will have the opportunity to explore various careers in health care and to build their portfolios while enhancing the quality of life of our patients.  Students will be volunteering in all areas of health care including on the nursing units, with Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Recreation Therapy, as well as activities led by the Summer Youth Program such as weekly Bingo, outdoor walks with patients, crafts, fundraising sales and many other exciting opportunities.

Program Info:  The Summer Youth Program takes place at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital and the Mental Health Services site. Students must commit to volunteering for a minimum of 40 hours.  The minimum age of student participants is 13 years old.  Spaces are limited so submit your application early!  Deadline for submissions is May 14, 2010 (applications received after this date may be considered if space permits).
