Regional Community Brain Injury Services provides individualized programs using a participate-to-learn approach. The model rests on roles as goals, learning by experience in real-life contexts and the use of personal and environmental supports to enable participation.
RCBIS employs 30 staff who are committed to professional development. Services are provided primarily by community rehabilitation counselors with the advice and support of a psychologist.
How to make a referral
Referrals are accepted from service providers, individuals, and family members. A written referral form with medical documentation of an acquired brain injury is required. Forms are available from our offices in Kingston, Belleville, or Brockville. RCBIS contacts the person within one week of referral. When service begins depends on the person's needs and available resources.
For information and referrals please contact the office nearest you. In Kingston, call (613) 547-6969 or fax 547-6472; in Belleville, call (613) 968-8888 or fax 968-9220; and in Brockville call (613) 342-1613 or fax 342-1055. Callers within the 613 area code may use 1-800-871-8096.
