Located at Providence Manor, Hildegarde Centre offers a variety of adult recreational, physical, social and spiritual activities in a structured setting. The Adult Day Program and the Day Away Program services include personal care and spiritual care. Transportation needs to be discussed with the Director. A nutritious meal is served at noon, with refreshments served in the mid-morning and mid-afternoon. While there are two distinct programs at Hildegarde Centre, the goal of both programs is to provide a structured, secure, and supportive environment that helps with the limitations and difficulties of everyday activities.
Adult Day Program
The Adult Day Program is for adult members of the community, especially seniors with physical disabilities, memory or cognition deficits, sensory limitations, and social or emotional problems that interfere with everyday activities. The Adult Day Program is open Tuesday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
The Day Away Program is designed to meet the needs of individuals with Alzheimer Disease or related dementia who, as a result of the progression of the disease or related behaviour, require a secure and supportive environment. The Day Away program is open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Hildegarde Centre serves Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Counties. A program user fee of 18$ a day is based upon the client’s ability to pay, and can be adjusted as necessary.
Applications can be mailed to the client, or picked up during a visit to Providence Manor. A medical report from a family doctor is required within 30 days of beginning the program, as part of the application process.
